Autumn’s here, which means we leave the Sun behind for another six or seven months, sitting in the warm indoors, staring out at the rain bouncing off the window and reminisce about the time you shoved all them class A’s up your bum to get past the Beacons Festival security (or something along those lines…)
Worry not, however, as the team at Simple Things are back in Bristol for the 4th year running, with a line-up strong enough to blow the myriad of multi-venue festivals we’ve seen popping up in recent years, right out of the water.
Friday night kicks off with Canadians Jessy Lanza and Caribou bringing those lovely Canadian vibes to Motion. Caribou’s new LP ‘Our Love’ has just secured a top 10 position in the album chart; this one’s bound to be a memorable night. Tickets for Friday night have unfortunately already sold out.
Saturday’s headliners are about as eclectic as you will see at a festival, the legendary DJ Harvey will be turning up to spin some tunes for the ravers, but if that isn’t your thing post-rock legends Mogwai will be playing just after LIARS at the Colston Hall and there’s also Black Lips followed by the return of Death From Above 1979 at Academy 1. Zomby and Actress will be making rare live appearances (hopefully) at Coronors Court 1. One of the acts we’re most excited for here at Far Out would be Sophie, who is he/she? Who cares, the music is sickeningly sweet. OH and Eagulls and Menace Beach are on the line-up to cater to your Leeds needs whilst down south. Phew.
Simple Things festival is on the 24th – 25th October, to see the full line-up and get your tickets sorted CLICK HERE.
