Simon Pegg confirms plans to direct his first film this year
Simon Pegg has confirmed plans to make his directional debut in 2018.
Pegg, who has already spent the year acting in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One and is due to appear in the Hollywood hit Mission: Impossible — Fallout, has big plans to step behind the camera before the end of the calendar year.
“My directorial debut… will hopefully be shooting by the end of this year,” he said when speaking to Empire.
“[Nira Park] sent me a script last year and said, ‘This might be your first film,'” he added. “I read it and said, ‘I think you might be right.’ Sure enough, that’s what we’re gearing up to do in November.” Asked to elaborate on the nature of the film a little more, Pegg joked: “It’s a porno.”
Not sure we subscribe, Simon.
Despite having never directed a feature film, Pegg does have a wealth of experience in the industry having previously co-written the likes of Star Trek: Beyond, Paul and Run, Fatboy, Run.
