In an excerpt from her forthcoming memoir, The Beauty of Living Twice, published in Vanity Fair, Sharon Stone describes the harrowing incident whereby a film producer asked her to have sex with a co-star. The request was apparently made in order to aid “on-screen chemistry.”
In the excerpt Stone writes, “He walked back and forth in his office with the [malted milk] balls falling out of the spout and rolling all over the wood floor as he explained to me why I should fuck my co-star. Why, in his day, he made love to Ava Gardner on-screen and it was so sensational! Now just the creepy thought of him in the same room with Ava Gardner gave me pause.”
The flowing prose continues, “I felt they could have just hired a co-star with talent, someone who could deliver a scene and remember his lines. I also felt they could fuck him themselves and leave me out of it,” she expresses. “It was my job to act and I said so.”
Sadly, they’re a myriad of other similar occurrences documented. The Casino-star details and incident. When her former manager so that no one would hire her because she was no longer “fuckable” and later describing how a “#MeToo candidate” caused problems on set after Stone refused to his on his lap while taking direction.
It is also Stone’s belief that speaking up and being a vocal presence in various movements surrounding Hollywood culture has hampered her career and led many in the industry to label her “difficult”.
Sharon Stone delves into all of this and more in her memoir, which is due for publication on the 30th of March, as it documents her health struggles, career battles, family, fortune and more.
