Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs stands down as chairman of Revolt amid sexual assault allegations
After a number of sexual assault allegations were made against Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs, the rapper has temporarily stood down as the chairman of the television network Revolt.
Combs, who co-founded Revolt, has been chairman of the company since 2013. At this stage, no statement has been provided on his reasoning for stepping back from his role at the network, but his decision was made last week.
R&B singer Cassie, who was in a relationship with Combs for over a decade, was the first to make allegations against the rapper. Combs refuted the claims before agreeing on a settlement with Cassie, stating: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”
Meanwhile, Cassie said: “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Although the matter with Cassie is now resolved, a second lawsuit was filed five days later, which accused Combs of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman in 1991. The rapper was also alleged to have filmed the event and showed the video to others.
A representative for Combs denied the allegation and stated: “[The] 32-year-old story is made up and not credible. Mr. Combs never assaulted her and she implicates companies that did not exist. This is purely a money grab and nothing more.”
On November 24th, a third lawsuit was filed against Combs by Jane Doe. She accused him and musician Aaron Hall of raping her and a friend in 1990 and 1991. The case also alleges Combs was later violent against her friend a few days after the alleged rape.
Combs denies all of the allegations made against him.
