Sea Girls have waved goodbye to the era of their debut album Open Your Head with the release of their emotional new track ‘This Is The End’.
Releasing your debut album in the middle of a global pandemic is an unenviable task but, nevertheless, it’s one that Sea Girls have risen to with the triumphant release of Open Up Your Head in August. The record managed to chart at number three in the UK and soundtracks the dying days of adolescence as well as that reluctant journey into adulthood. The record is poignant and relatable in equal measure, as well as being full of euphoric anthems. ‘This Is The End’ is all about drawing a line under a relationship and doubles up as a fitting way of putting a stop to this exhilarating first chapter of the Sea Girls story.
The track is one of the more moving songs by the London-based four-piece and is a touching number that sees singer Henry Camamile being forced to come to terms with a relationship ending. “Darling, I can’t pretend, I don’t expect anything, When I end up in your eyes again,” he painfully sings on ‘This Is The End’.
The track is accompanied by a video filmed recently in the corridors of London’s legendary O2 Brixton
Academy on the day that they were recently due to play the biggest headline show of their career at the sacred venue. The show has since been rescheduled yet again to the band’s dismay and they look set to wait to play Brixton until October 15th, 2021.
“We’ve made the difficult but necessary decision to reschedule our UK April and EU February 2021 tour dates to Autumn 2021,” the band took to social media to state. “Tickets purchased for these shows remain valid, please hold on to them! UK support comes from the awesome Baby Queen.”
