Sea Girls have shared the details of their highly anticipated debut album Open Up Your Head which is set for release on August 14th via Polydor.
The indie darlings have launched the album by sharing brand new track ‘Do You Really Wanna Know?’ which has set to whet the appetites of fans who have been hankering for a full-length release from Sea Girls for some time.
Speaking about the lyrical content on the record, frontman Henry Camamile said: “I don’t buy all the love and flowers stuff. Real relationships fall apart, you get hurt and you have to deal with it so you do what you have to do to get over it. I think what has saved me is music.”
They have also announced the rescheduled dates for their tour which had to be postponed due to the ongoing pandemic which has meant their date at London’s Roundhouse has now been upgraded with a huge show at Brixton Academy that is set to take place in November.
Camamile spoke about the band’s catastrophic rise to Far Out in March which has even taken him by surprise, saying: “Songs like ‘Lost’ and ‘Call Me Out’ I wrote in my room when I was feeling like ‘what the fuck is going on with my life’ and ‘where is this going’ and kind of having an existential crisis or whatever and ‘Call Me Out’ was when I felt like not much happens to me. Now it’s the opposite, singing that line in ‘Lost’ and then playing to 2,000 people is kind of crazy, I love it. Hopefully, it’s just the beginning.”
