Jehnny Beth, frontwoman of rock band Savages, will play a role in the film An Impossible Love (Un amour impossible).
The film, an adaptation of French writer Christine Angot’s novel, is directed by Catherine Corsini and will also star the likes of Virginie Efira and Niels Schneider. The story, which focusses around an “intense but short-lived romance”, is set in the 1950s and depicts the lasting effect the romance has on a woman and her daughter. “Over the next 50 years, their lives will be shaped by the unconditional love between a mother and her daughter,” the synopsis reads. “Overshadowed by the impossible love of a woman for a man that rejects her, and of a daughter for an absent and abusive father.”
Savages’ Beth will play the role of the daughter, Chantal, in her adult years and the film will hit cinemas in France on November 7th.
