Santigold just dropped a new mixtape ‘I Don’t Want: The Gold Sessions’

Santigold has dropped a brand new mixtape I Don’t Want: The Gold Sessions to keep all the parties going this weekend. A fluid and bouncy release it follows 2016’s LP 99c LP and is surely the only thing you need for a proper Friday night.

The release was produced by Mixpak Records producer Dre Skull and comes via Downtown Recs. It sees the artist work closely with Dre Skull and explores their shared love of reggae and Afro-Caribbean music.

Recorded across last year, the final pieces of the puzzle were put in place when she was 9 months pregnant with twins. She told Pitchfork “Right before the babies came, I was like, I should finish this. So I was recording myself nine months pregnant in a room”

Pregnant or not, Santigold has kindled the summer fire with this laid-back dancehall banger. Full of tropical tones and bouncing beats this is the album you need for every summer party.
