Sam Fender shares ‘Rein Me In’ duet with Olivia Dean

Following his victorious run of stadium shows in the UK, Sam Fender has officially released a new version of ‘Rein Me In’ with Olivia Dean.

June has been the biggest month of Fender’s career to date. It has seen him perform in front of 80,000 fans at the London Stadium before returning home to Newcastle to complete three triumphant dates at St James’ Park, the home of his beloved Newcastle United FC.

Fender was joined at the run of shows by Dean, who released her Mercury Prize-nominated debut album Messy in 2023. During the concerts, Fender welcomed Dean back to the stage to duet on ‘Rein Me In’, which has now been given its official release

The ‘People Watching’ singer said of his experience working with Dean: “If I collaborate with another artist on one of my songs, I prefer they write a new part and make it their own, rather than singing whatever I’ve already written.”

“Olivia added a female perspective to ‘Rein Me In’, and I think it’s all the better for it. Sharing the stage with her over these last few stadium shows has been a joy. I can’t wait for people to have it,” Fender continued.

Meanwhile, Dean said of the collaboration: “‘Rein Me In’ is my favourite song on Sam’s album, so it was a pleasure to write a new verse from a female perspective. I’ve been a fan of Sam’s for a while now, so I’m so pleased we got to work together on this duet.”

Both Dean and Fender have busy months ahead. She will head to North America next month for a headline tour ahead of the release of her new album, The Art of Loving, before returning to the UK to support Fender in Manchester and Edinburgh. Dean will also tour arenas in the US later this year with Sabrina Carpenter.

Whereas, Fender is still touring People Watching with more huge headline shows planned for the UK this summer, along with a series of European festivals before touring North America and Australia.
