Sabrina Carpenter granted five-year restraining order against man who intruded her home

Sabrina Carpenter has been granted a five-year restraining order against a man who allegedly attempted to intrude her home on multiple occasions.

Carpenter has recently come off the high of headlining Coachella back in April, but has been forced to deal with a man who she claims has tried to enter her home in Los Angeles.

As a result, a five-year restraining order has been granted against 31-year-old William Applegate, which prevents him from coming closer than 100 metres from the singer and the other residents in her home, which include her sister and sister’s parents.

In addition, according to the Associated Press, Applegate is also banned from communicating with Carpenter and owning a firearm in that time.

It comes as Applegate claimed at the court hearing that he and the ‘Espresso’ singer needed to “be together as soon as possible”, and were both part of a military scheme that protected “national and global security”.

Carpenter herself did not testify at the hearing, after Applegate allegedly attempted to enter her home multiple times, and continued to return to the property despite being arrested for reaching her front door in May.

She did, however, state in her written filing that Applegate is “a complete stranger”, whom she has never met and does not want to meet.

This led to a judge granting a temporary restraining order at the end of last month, which has now led to the five-year order being filed. An investigation is underway to ascertain whether any criminality has taken place.

Applegate admitted to being at Carpenter’s home, but claimed that she wanted him there and that her team was prohibiting this. However, he said he was “more than willing” to stay away from her with the restraining order in place.

Previously, he allegedly wrote in a counter-petition against the case that the pop star was attempting to communicate with him by looking at him during her headline set at Coachella in April.
