Rosalía ends Milan concert abruptly due to sudden illness
Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía was forced to end her concert in Milan early due to a sudden bout of food poisoning.
On March 25th, the star took the stage at the Unipol Forum in Assago, Italy, where almost 16,000 fans gathered to see her perform.
However, the ‘Beso’ singer only managed 11 songs, including hits like ‘Berghain’ and ‘Divinize’, before she called it a night prematurely.
The singer halted the show to explain to the audience that she was feeling under the weather. “I tried to do this show from the very beginning, even though I’ve been sick,” she began.
She continued earnestly, “I’ve had, like, really severe food poisoning and I tried to push through until the end, but I’m feeling extremely unwell. I’ve been throwing up backstage, and I really want to give the best show, and I’m basically on the floor trying my best.”
Despite the dire situation, she was adamant that she could keep going: “I can try to continue, but at some point I might have to stop. I’m extremely sick, and I’m really trying, I’ll push as much as I can, but if we have to stop, we might have to if I physically can’t continue. I’m in pain.”
However, a short time after, Rosalía admitted that she had “tried by all means to continue the show until the end, but I’m really unwell, and I can’t do it.”
This unfortunate situation marks the first time in her career that the 33-year-old has ever cancelled a performance.
Should her health return in time, Rosalía is next billed to play four dates at the Movistar Arena in Madrid, beginning on March 30th.
Her tour, in support of her 2025 album Lux, will continue through other European cities such as Lisbon, Barcelona, Cologne and Berlin, before landing in London’s O2 Arena for two shows on May 5th and 6th.
