False reports of a shooting at Rolling Loud Festival leads to “mass hysteria”

False reports of an active shooter at Rolling Loud Festival in Miami caused “mass hysteria” as large crowds attempted to escape the event in fear of their lives.

The festival, which boasts the likes of Migos, Cardi B and Rick Ross on the line-up, attempted to restore calm after a number of staff were injured after a stampede near the exits.

“Shortly after 11pm on Friday night, there was a disturbance that led a large group of fans to believe there was an active shooter within the festival grounds,” the festival said in a statement. “The commotion resulted in these fans running out of the venue, some of whom were injured and/or scared in the process.”

“Security and public authorities immediately sprung into action, established it was a false alarm and there was not an active shooter in the festival.”

Thankfully order was restored and the festival managed to continue without any issues barring some minor injuries to staff.
