Roger Waters turned up to a rally in support of Julian Assange and performed Pink Floyd hit ‘Wish You Were Here’.
Hundreds of people turned out in support of Assange by assembling a rally outside the Home Office after the was extradited to face his alleged crimes. “Julian Assange, we are with you,” Waters declared to the crowd before declaring: “Free Julian Assange.”
After claiming Assange was being locked up for 23 hours a day, Waters added: “How do we put ourselves in the position of a Julian Assange in solitary confinement, or with that kid in Syria or Palestine or Rohingya, being blown to bits by these people in this building here?”
He continued: “It is called empathy and it is the most valuable thing any human being can possess in their lives.”
