Robbie Williams and Village People to perform at FIFA World Cup draw

Robbie Williams, Village People, and Nicole Scherzinger are among the list of acts performing at the FIFA 2026 World Cup draw taking place on December 5th.

The final draw for the 2026 global competition will take place at the John F Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, and will see a host of celebrities celebrating the occasion, including Donald Trump, who is expected to be in attendance.

While Heidi Klum, Danny Ramirez, and comedian Kevin Hart will share co-hosting duties, Williams will provide the main musical performance.

He’ll be joined by musician Scherzinger, who is a former Pussycat Doll, as well as Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli and ‘YMCA’ hitmakers Village People.

Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand, who also played on the England team as a defender, will conduct the all-important draw. The competition is set to take place between June 11th and July 19th in 16 cities across the US, Mexico, and Canada.

Williams is a pertinent pick for the occasion as he released the first-ever official FIFA anthem, ‘Desire’, featuring Laura Pausini, over the summer.

The ex-Take That member will take to the stage in the lead-up to his new studio album, Britpop, which will feature the recent singles, ‘Pretty Face,’ ‘Human,’ ‘Spies,’ and ‘Rocket. ‘

The album was initially set for release on October 3rd. However, while he performed an intimate show at Dingwalls in London, which was supposed to be a launch party for Britpop, Williams explained that he had pushed back to a February release date.

He shared with fans, “We’re all pretending [the scheduling change] is not about Taylor Swift, but it fucking is, you can’t compete with that.”

Other musicians that have been involved with the workings of the sporting competition include Coldplay, Doja Cat, J Balvin, and Tems, who performed at the FIFA Club World Cup final halftime show at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey this July.

The World Cup draw will be aired across the BBC, via iPlayer, as well as the BBC Sport website from 5 pm on December 4th.
