The Beatles drummer Ringo Starr has confirmed he’s finished work on a new country album, which is expected to arrive in 2026.
Starr recently made the revelation at a press conference at Milwaukee’s Riverside Theater, which is where he’s been using as a rehearsal space for his upcoming North America tour with his All-Starr Band. He is also bringing the tour to the Miller High Life Theater in Milwaukee on September 12th.
During the broad-ranging discussion, Starr discussed his love of performing, even at 85, sharing, “I’ve been doing this since 1989 and it just works. We are a band, this group of guys who were in their own bands, including me.”
Looking ahead to the future, Starr wants to continue touring for as long as possible, adding, “I’m still touring. You never think you’re going to get this far. And I’m still doing what I love to do. It’s something I love to do.”
Starr also confirmed that he’d recently completed his work on a new country album with T-Bone Burnett, who he previously collaborated with on his 2025 record, Look Up. “I’ve just finished my part in another country album,” the Beatle said, before stating, “I love country music.”
The drummer then revealed one special cover that is set to appear on the forthcoming release, sharing, “We do a cover of a Carl Perkins song, because T Bone sort of likes the idea that my first recordings with The Beatles were Carl Perkins songs. I love Carl Perkins.”

Firstly, on the Anthology documentary series which has been restored and will be released on Disney+ on November 26th, 2025, including a brand new episode, titled ‘Nine’. While Ringo is yet to see the episode, he’s heard that it’s “great”, and said, “It’s gonna be a surprise to me too.”
Additionally, he spoke about Sam Mendes’ forthcoming set of biopics on The Beatles, which will see Barry Keoghan play him. The duo have already met, but the Irish actor won’t be in attendance for Starr’s forthcoming tour, the drummer shared, “He’s very busy being me right now.”
