Real Estate have shared ‘Quarantour’ a new augmented reality gig app
We know the drill by now, the COVID-19 pandemic has shut down countless tours and made going to live shows an alien concept. But Real Estate are fighting back and bringing their live show to your phone.
The band have announced a brand new augmented reality app, Quarantour, which features a pre-recorded live performance from Real Estate.
Users can go to the app’s webpage or use their iOS or Android device and place a 3D concert stage wherever they like providing there’s a flat surface. Real Estate claim that it is “the world’s first live, AR concert experience.”
With their latest album The Main Thing landing in February, the group were scheduled to tour their new record. Sadly, that tour has been postponed in light of the coronavirus outbreak.
“We’re still really sad that we can’t go on tour but thanks to modern technology you can watch your own personal ‘Augmented Reality’ Real Estate Show anywhere …. inside your home,” the band said in a post on their Facebook page.
The app was produced by creative agency CALLEN, who also worked with the band on their interactive music video for ‘Stained Glass.’
