Quick-fire Questions: 10 minutes with Tanzana
Amid the rugged hills and mystical forests of Scotland, a new melody whistles through the wind. But Tanzana are not here to make such a picturesque scene.
The Glasgow five-piece, made up of vocalist Freya Talbot, guitarists Lily Findlay and Sarah Dunn, bassist Katie Hare, and drummer Karolina Skinderskyte, have racked up quite the blistering impression on the scene, despite having only just recently released their debut single, ‘Covet’. It’s hard to imagine them squandering that already majestic allure.
But this one release is only part of the emerging picture, as Tanzana are a band whipping up just as much of a live appeal as they are in the studio. Having already conquered the local heights of local venues such as King Tut’s and SWG3, they are only set to climb further into 2026 with shows dotted all over the UK and Ireland, including at The Great Escape and ArcTanGent in Bristol.
However, those are all the mountains that can wait until the new year. Here at Far Out, we really know what can make or break a new artist. For Tanzana, that just happens to involve blackberry cocktails, Gigi Hadid’s pasta, poltergeists, and Claudia Winkleman…
