Queens Of The Stone Age to release Christmas single in aid of charity

Queens of the Stone Age will release a new Christmas song titled Silent Night as well as a reading of the classic Christmas tale, Twas the Night Before Christmas which will see the light of day later this week.

The track will feature Australian blues singer-songwriter C.W. Stoneking and will be available both on 7″ vinyl and on all streaming platforms with Twas the Night Before Christmas being on the B-side which features Brody Dalle, Josh Homme and “their three merry-making elves.”

A press release from the band read: “Queens of the Stone Age’ are working off the holiday spread in advance. The band is spreading year-end tidings of comfort and joy whether you want it or not.”

Recorded during QOTSA’s 2017 tour of Australia in East Freemantle, the single will be released digitally on December 7 whilst the limited edition vinyl will be released on December 14 and can be purchased here.

The special release is for a wonderful cause with the proceeds set to be split between charities including the ‘Sweet Stuff Foundation’ which is a non-profit organisation created by Homme in 2013 to help career musicians, recording engineers and their families who are  struggling with illness and disability.

The rest of the proceeds will be sent to ‘Support Act’ which is a charity that shares a similar ethos to Homme’s that was founded in Australia in 1997 by AMCOS, APRA, ARIA and PPCA.
