Pulp announce new live album and concert film chronicling London shows in 2025

Pulp have announced a new live album and concert film chronicling their two performances at London’s O2 Arena in 2025.

The celebratory set of concerts took place shortly after the release of their chart-topping album, More, which marked the first record from Pulp in more than two decades.

Titled Live!, the album is set for release on August 28th through Rough Trade Records. Meanwhile, Pulp: What Do You Do For an Encore?, the concert film, is set for a premiere in the autumn ahead of a Mubi release.

Garth Jennings is the director behind Pulp: What Do You Do For an Encore?, who shares a long and illustrious history with the band.

He first worked with Pulp back in 1997 when he directed the video for ‘Help the Aged’. Then, upon hearing of their reunion in 2023, Jennings offered his services with their stage design before filming their two shows at the O2 Arena.

In a statement, Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker said of the forthcoming projects, “A concert is an event where songs come back to life. That’s why this album is called Live!

He added, “It’s both a statement of fact (it’s a recording of a live band) & a challenge (come on! Everyone come alive!).”

To coincide with the announcement of Live!, Pulp have shared recordings of ‘Disco 2000’ and ‘A Sunset’ from the upcoming record, which are available to listen to below.

Live! is not the only way to get your fix of Pulp in the next few months. This summer, they will be headlining Wythenshawe Park in Manchester, as well as End of the Road in Dorset, and All Together Now in County Wicklow.

Additionally, on mainland Europe, they will be bringing the groove to Mad Cool Festival in Spain, Eurorockeenes and Beauregard in France. Pulp will also visit Germany later this month for two shows in Berlin and one date in Cologne.
