The new 10,000 capacity venue called Depot will be a cultural space comes in collaboration with The Mayfield Partnership, Broadwick Venues and Vibration Group and will be located next to Piccadilly Station.

“We want to add something to the Mancunian cultural landscape which is unique, not just in the city but in the UK,” Richard Upton, chief development officer said in a statement. “Depot will be a place that blends the global with the local and where international stars and local school children will be able access the same quality of performance and studio space.

“It will be democratic and distinctive.”

The new space will be divided into three sections with a live venue, food hall, studio spaces and a space to put on free community events.
