Primavera Sound Festival announce livestream series to mark 20th anniversary

To mark what is the 20th anniversary of the event, Primavera Sound Festival have announced a special online series to celebrate the milestone.

The Barcelona music festival, who were planning on a major reflective look back on the festival to date with a special 20th birthday line-up, was originally meant to take place from June 3-7 before the coronavirus pandemic forced organisers to cancel the event.

“We are devastated and are terribly sorry for the inconvenience caused, but the health and well-being of our audience and of all the people involved in the festival has always been and still is our absolute priority. We cannot thank you enough for your patience, love and understanding in this very uncertain scenario,” the festival confirmed.

“All tickets that have been bought will be valid for Primavera Sound Barcelona 2021 and will include special benefits for all those who decide to keep them. As well as this option, that rewards the loyalty and faith of the festival ticket holders, it will also be possible to request a refund from next Wednesday, June 3rd, the date on which this year’s edition was originally meant to start. The festival will contact ticket buyers to inform them about the details of the process.”

Now though, to keep focus on their special birthday, Primavera will begin broadcasting a host of past live sets.

“Today we should be dancing together in Parc del Forum, so we deserve a celebration!” the festival said. “Join us this weekend on PS Life and stream some shows we really love from the history of our festival. We start today at 4pm: come, chat and dance with us!”
