An interview conducted with Arctic Monkeys prior to their mainstream success has emerged online.
The interview, dated 2005, comes as part of a new podcast series entitled Demo Tapes which is presented by Rick Martin and Sarah Jane Kemp in which they attempt to explore significant moments breakthrough moments for the world’s most popular acts.
“It was amazing to discover that I still had the interview on tape 13 years later– I was convinced I’d recorded over it years ago,” Martin in a press release in relation to the interview with Alex Turner and Matt Helders. “I was given the opportunity to speak to Alex and Matt way before they became the global stars they are now and it’s great to be able to share it with the band’s fans,” he continued.
“Turner and Helders explain how the band formed and discuss the prospect of impending fame, along with talking us through their early musical influences,” the podcast description reads.
