Post Malone performed Nirvana classics with Travis Barker on livestream
Post Malone is the latest high-profile musician to take his work to the livestream stage but, typically, he has put his own unique spin on it.
Taking to the YouTube broadcast, Malone was joined by Travis Barker on drums, Nick Mack on guitar and Brian Lee on bass, as they rolled through a number of different Nirvana classics.
With each musician located in different rooms of Malone’s house in Utah, Malone paid tribute to Kurt Cobain by wearing a dress and opened up with ‘Francis Farmer Will Have Her Revenge on Seattle’ before rolling into hits like ‘Heart-Shaped Box’, ‘Lithium’, ‘In Bloom’ and more.
“This event will raise funds for The United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund for The World Health Organization (WHO) in support of COVID-19 relief efforts,” Malone’s description of the performance reads. “Fans will be able to make donations to the UN Foundation in real time during the livestream event by using the “DONATE” button on the bottom or right hand side of the screen. Google.org will be matching all donations at a 2:1 rate, up to $5M, with all proceeds going to the UN Foundation.”
