Picture Parlour announce Independent Venue Tour alongside new single ‘Cielo Drive’
London-based rock Picture Parlour have announced a new Independent Venue Tour in partnership with Music Venue Trust, coming to the UK this July.
The tour, backed officially by Far Out, will see the band play new, unreleased music across six different grassroots venues, beginning in Chelmsford at Hot Box Live and ending in London at The George Tavern. In keeping with the communal ethos of grassroots spaces, they will be looking for the best local talent to support them on their journey.
The band have also released a new single, ‘Cielo Drive’, alongside this announcement. The track follows on from ‘Who’s There To Love Without You?’, the first single since Picture Parlour released their debut 2024 EP Face In The Picture. The new single hails from LA and is branded as a symptom of a “surreal world shaped by Northern Soul culture, ’70s rock’n’roll and the dive bars and clubs that birthed it all.”
Speaking exclusively to Far Out, the band expressed their excitement for the upcoming shows. They said, “We’re so buzzed to wear our finest rags and bring our new music to local independent venues before anywhere else. We wouldn’t have these tunes without the support of the grassroots scene at the beginning of our journey, so it’s only right that these stages are the first to hear it.”
The band then expanded on the importance of independent spaces in the music scene, stating that “these places are so important to local communities. We’ll be looking out for the best local acts in each city to support us on this tour – we can’t wait to discover new music and make new friends along the way. The best part of being on the road.”
Finishing, as always, with a charming quip, they said, “What would we do without independent venues, ey?”
Writing for Far Out recently, Picture Parlour paid homage to the small independent venues that have allowed them to nurture their live act and commit to their craft, sharing, “The stages are small but mighty, the floors are sticky but always open, and the people behind these independent spaces genuinely care.”
Outside of their independent venue tour, the band will play the likes of Kendall Calling in London and Gurriers Skatepark Fest in Manchester in August. In October, they will play London Calling in Amsterdam, and their last date of the year currently will see them hit up Rolling Stone beach in Weissenhäuser Strand on November 21st.
