Phoebe Waller-Bridge looks set to star alongside Harrison Ford in a forthcoming Indian Jones 5. Other plot details surrounding the proposed whip-cracking 78-year-old adventurer are unclear, but it sure promises to be interesting.
Steven Spielberg was originally in place to direct the project, but he was recently replaced at the helm by James Mangold, who announced: “I’m thrilled to be starting a new adventure, collaborating with a dream team of all-time great filmmakers.”
Mangold continued, “Steven [Spielberg], Harrison [Ford], Kathy [Kennedy], Frank [Marshall] and John [Williams] are all artistic heroes of mine. When you add Phoebe, a dazzling actor, brilliant creative voice and the chemistry she will undoubtedly bring to our set, I can’t help but feel as lucky as Indiana Jones himself.”
Disney will be working alongside their sister company Lucasfilm to produce the latest instalment in the 40-year-old franchise.
Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall will be producing Indiana Jones 5, while Spielberg will also remain on board as an executive producer. The screenplay has already been penned by Jonathan Kasdan for the project.
Indiana Jones 5 is currently pencilled in to hit cinema screens on July 29th, 2022.
