Pet Shop Boys release new single ‘Monkey Business’ and hint at Glastonbury appearance
Pet Shop Boys are back with new material as they release their new digi-pop single ‘Monkey Business’.
The track arrives as the third track to be released from the synthpop duo’s forthcoming new studio album Hotspot which will be released later this month.
While promoting the new music, the group swung by the BBC Radio studios to discuss their immediate plans. When asked about the new music and subsequent tour, Neil Tennant was asked by Nicki Chapman on BBC Radio 2 if Pet Shop Boys would consider Glastonbury Festival this summer: “Talking of live work, you’re going to be touring the UK later this year… I can’t see Somerset down there… you know I’m thinking perhaps Glastonbury,” Chapman asked on the Zoe Ball show.
Tennant replied: “Somerset, of course, Glastonbury is in Somerset,” in a not so subtle hint. Chapman followed: “Have I put you on the spot?” And he agreed: “You have put me on the spot, let’s just leave me there…”
