It has been reported that Pedro Pascal has joined his fellow actor in Nicolas Cage in the new project The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent.
The film, a action comedic satire which will see Cage play an exaggerated version of himself, is being directed by Tom Gormican and pencilled in for a 2021 release date.
The project, which has been co-written alongside Kevin Etten, tells the story of Cage attempted to land a part in Quentin Tarantino’s next film while fiercely battling financial issues.
The official synopsis reads: “A cash-strapped Nicolas Cage agrees to make a paid appearance at a billionaire super fan’s birthday party, but is really an informant for three CIA since the billionaire fan is a drug kingpin and gets cast in a Tarantino movie.”
Typically, like most major productions this year, The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent has encountered huge delays amid the current health crisis and plans have been discussed since early November. The project is being helmed by Gormican alongside Lionsgate who will oversee the plans.
Kevin Turen, who produced the recently released drama Waves, is on producer duties alongside Cage and his Saturn Films banner and with Mike Nilon.
A specific release date is yet to be announced.
