World’s most famous vegetarian Paul McCartney to appear on ‘Chicken Shop Date’

Paul McCartney‘s promotional tour for his new album is taking him on a date with Amelia Dimoldenberg later this week.

To coincide with the release of The Boys of Dungeon Lane on May 29th, Dimoldenberg is set to release the latest episode of her long-running Chicken Shop Date with McCartney on the very same day.

She teased the episode in a TikTok on May 26th, which saw her walk across the iconic zebra crossing outside Abbey Road Studios alongside the caption, “My next date…out friday”.

While McCartney is the world’s most famous vegetarian and hasn’t eaten meat for more than 50 years, just because he’s a guest on Chicken Shop Date doesn’t mean he’s going to start feasting on a bowl of wings.

There have been plentiful of vegetarian guests on the series over the years, who opt for a plant-based alternative rather than eating chicken.

McCartney has immersed himself in new media to promote his new album, and is even set to take part in a TikTok Live later today (May 27th), which is scheduled to begin at 3:30pm BST.

Additionally, McCartney has stepped into the podcasting world, discussing his early years in Liverpool with historian Tom Holland on The Rest is History, while also appearing on The Rest is Entertainment.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, McCartney sat down for a new interview on BBC Radio 2’s Tracks of My Years, which saw him name the ten tracks that have soundtracked his life.

After naming ‘Mr Tambourine Man’ by Bob Dylan, McCartney opened up about their relationship, sharing, “I’m a fan, but y’know, I don’t know him well enough. George knew him very well because they were in the Traveling Wilburys together. I’m a little bit nervous to approach him. Some people, it’s easy, you sort of think we can chat easily.”

He also mourned the passing of Prince, after naming ‘Kiss’ as one of his all-time favourite tracks, admitting, “He was a special guy, it’s so sad these people y’know, suddenly he’s not here. It always makes me wish that I’d known him better, and I could say, ‘Hey man, what’s going on?’ It’s such a shame, there’s such talents.”
