Oscars 2025: the full list of winners

The great and good of Hollywood gathered together for the biggest night on the industry calendar on what was – on paper, at least, the most unpredictable Oscars race in years.

After all, across the Golden Globes, Baftas, and Screen Actors Guild Awards, ‘Best Picture’ trophies were dished out to The Brutalist, Emilia Pérez, and Conclave, ensuring there was no clear front-runner like last year when everybody knew months in advance that the prize belonged to Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer. However, Sean Baker’s Anora grabbed the win and topped off an impressive evening.

The same could be said of the major acting categories outside the virtual clean sweeps of A Real Pain‘s Keiran Culkin, who picked up the award for ‘Best Supporting Actor’, and Emilia Pérez‘s Zoe Saldaña. While Adrien Brody was considered the favourite for The Brutalist, Timothée Chalamet’s SAG Awards victory for A Complete Unknown created some last-minute uncertainty over who would be named ‘Best Actor’. But it was Brody who picked up the gong in the end.

Similarly, The Substance‘s Demi Moore battled and lost out to Anora‘s Mikey Madison for ‘Best Actress’, adding to Anora‘s incredible evening. A Complete Unknown did pick up ‘Best Adapted Screenplay’ while blockbuster Wicked gained awards for ‘Best Make Up’ and ‘Best Production Design’.

Everybody wants to win an Oscar, but there are only so many statues to go around. Just like every other year, there were plenty of snubs and surprises as the 97th edition of the ceremony unfolded.
