Oscars 2024: Where to watch every ‘Best Picture’ nominee

Ahead of the upcoming 96th edition of the Academy Awards, the nominations for the Oscars have been revealed ahead of the ceremony on March 10th in Los Angeles.

The full list of nominees in every category were unveiled by Zazie Beetz and Jack Quaid from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in LA and aired on NBC’s Good Morning America. Jimmy Kimmel is set to return to host the Oscars for a fourth time in March. For his part, the comedian deadpanned in a statement, “I always dreamed of hosting the Oscars exactly four times”.

As always, ‘Best Picture’ is one of the most heated categories, with all of the contenders worthy in their own right as being named among the best the industry has had to offer over the last 12 months. Even though anywhere up to ten films can be selected, the number has tended to fluctuate in recent years without always being guaranteed to reach double figures, although that isn’t the case this year.

Cord Jefferson’s American Fiction, Justine Triet’s Anatomy of a Fall, Greta Gerwig’s Barbie, Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers, Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon, Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, Celine Song’s Past Lives, Yorgos Lanthimos’ Poor Things, and Jonathan Glazer’s The Zone of Interest are this year’s contenders, making it an even ten.

Triet, Scorsese, Nolan, Lanthimos, and Glazer will also be the five names competing for ‘Best Director’, in what’s shaping up to be a close contest from five auteurs at the top of their game.

Last year’s winner, Everything Everywhere All at Once, handily saw off the threats posed by All Quiet on the Western Front, Avatar: The Way of Water, The Banshees of Inisherin, Elvis, The Fabelmans, Tár, Top Gun: Maverick, Triangle of Sadness, and Women Talking to emerge victorious. However, following the ceremony, they all enjoyed a noticeable uptick in either viewership or box office takings in the aftermath as audiences rushed to check out the field for themselves.

The same sentiment will ring true again this year, and while there’s only going to be one ‘Best Picture’ winner at the upcoming Oscars, all of the nominees are available to watch or stream.
