Oscars 2018: Watch Eddie Vedder cover Tom Petty’s ‘Room at the Top’

Eddie Vedder performed a particularly moving rendition of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers’ ‘Room at the Top’ during the ‘In Memoriam’ section of the 2018 Oscars.

The single, which was originally released by Petty in 1999, was stripped back by the Pear Jam frontman who strummed the electric guitar while singing the words: “I got a room at the top of the world tonight/ I can see everything tonight.

“I got a room where everyone/ Can have a drink and forget those things that went wrong in their life.”

The Iconic Tom Petty passed away in October of last year having suffered a cardiac arrest.
