Orchards show pop prowess with ‘Darling’

After supporting the ever-impressive PWR BTTM on their recent run of UK shows, Brighton band Orchards have a lot to smile about. And smiling is what you will be doing as soon as their new math-rock infused pop track ‘Darling’ hits your ears.

Being compared to Foals (Antidotes era) and Paramore is fairly apt, but Orchards possess another few gears to their machine. The ability to create a crescendo of sound atop some sugary sweet lyrics, the swagger to fill each track to the brim with hooks and the wherewithal to be able to slow it all down for the odd precious moment.

All this speaks of a band ready to make a claim for the big time, with ‘Darling’ they look like that chance is just around the corner.
