One Direction star Liam Payne’s cause of death revealed
Following the announcement of the death of Liam Payne, medical authorities have revealed an official cause of death for the singer.
The One Direction star had been staying in Buenos Aires when he was found on an interior balcony following a fall from three stories. When medical authorities arrived on the scene, they said that there was no hope of resuscitation.
Now, in the preliminary autopsy report (via Billboard), Payne died following internal and external traumas sustained in the fall in Palermo. The former One Direction had just come off of watching his former bandmate, Niall Horan, playing a show in Buenos Aires and had been staying there with his girlfriend at the time of his death.
Prior to the incident, the hotel manager said that the singer appeared aggressive with the staff and under the influence when he checked into the hotel. After observing his behaviour, the manager called emergency services on behalf of Payne, saying, “I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger because he is in a room with a balcony, and we are afraid he could do something that threatens life.”
When emergency services arrived on the scene, the report stated that they had also found substances in his room, as well as alcohol. According to medical personnel, there were also multiple injuries sustained that were unsurvivable. When speaking about their arrival on the scene, Argentine medical director Alberto Crescenti said that they had “no possibility of doing anything” to aid Payne, singling out a massive fracture in his skull.
The autopsy also has said that Payne’s body was taken to the Judicial Morgue, but have since concluded that the injuries sustained in the fall show no signs of a struggle. While five people have been interviewed regarding their involvement with the singer before his death, none were with Payne at the time of his death. Given the state of his injuries, medical authorities have also said he might have been unconscious during the time of death.
Following the news of his death on October 16th, the singer’s family also broke their silence, stating, “Liam will forever live in our hearts, and we’ll remember him for his kind, funny and brave soul. We are supporting each other the best we can as a family and ask for privacy and space at this awful time.”
