No Doubt extend residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas due to demand
No Doubt have extended their upcoming residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas due to high demand for tickets.
The Californian rock band are reuniting for a residency at the iconic, 18,000-seat venue. This will mark their first tour in 14 years.
They have only reunited twice since their split in 2015. Earlier this year, they came together for FireAid in Los Angeles to raise money for victims of the catastrophic Pacific Palisades fire. In 2024, they performed a special set at Coachella, where they were joined by global popstar Olivia Rodrigo.
Originally, the ‘Don’t Speak’ musicians were slated to perform six nights next year, on May 6th, 8th, 9th, 13th, 15th, and 16th. However, this has now been extended to add another six dates onto their tour; they will also be performing on May 21st, 23rd, 24th, 27th, 29th, and 30th.
The announcement comes alongside the celebration of the 30th anniversary of their third album, Tragic Kingdom.
Discussing the upcoming residency, singer Gwen Stefani said: “The opportunity to create a show at Sphere excites me in a new way. The venue is unique and modern and it opens up a whole new visual palette for us to be creative. Doing it with No Doubt feels like going back in time to relive our history, while also creating something new in a way we never could have imagined.”
Consequently, the tour is likely to touch on all points in their patchy career; they released their first album in 1992 and added four more records in their initial run before disbanding in 2004. They reunited for the first time in 2008, releasing one more album in 2012 before another hiatus.
These shows mark Stefani as the first woman to headline the arena since it opened two years ago. Writing on this unfortunate statistic, Far Out observed, “There’s a dreadful level of irony in the fact that the venue presents culture with a new way to visualise, imagine, create, and world-build through art–and yet the world, staring back at us, is still sickened to the core by sexism.”
