Far Out’s collaboration with Resonance Extra continues to build momentum this week with our tenth episode of Night Trippin’.

Moving on from Iceland last week, we’re heading to Turkey with hosts Steven Dove and Far Out’s Lee Thomas-Mason.

Night Trippin’ unearths alternative sounds from around the world, one country at a time. In this episode, music from Mogollar, Selda, Erkin Koray and Morton Feldman.

With elements of Turkish rock, otherwise known as Anatolian rock, this episode touches on a sub-genre of Turkish music history which emerged during the mid-1960s.

Despite many Turkish musicians of the time being directly influenced by the rise of bands such as The Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin and more, Anatolian rock is thought to have origins back to the 1950s when Turkish society began to undergo significant cultural changes.
