Nick Cannon uncovers homophobic tweets from Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler and Sarah Silverman

In the wake of the controversey surrounding Kevin Hart, Nick Cannon has uncovered a string of homophobic tweets posted by Amy Schumer, Chelsea Handler and Sarah Silverman.

Hart, who had been revealed as the forthcoming host of the 91st Academy Awards, was forced to step down when people on social media found a number of homophobic tweets that the comedian had posted almost ten years ago.

Hart fumbled his apology and seemingly tried to delete the aforementioned tweets. However, the comedian did go on to explain that he has grown, evolved and changed his views over years: “Guys, I’m nearly 40 years old. If you don’t believe that people change, grow, evolve as they get older, I don’t know what to tell you. If you want to hold people in a position where they always have to justify the past, do you. I’m the wrong guy, man,” he said.

Despite his admission, the furore surrounding the issue had expanded beyond the point of repair and Hart gave up the position. Now, in the wake of this situation, American rapper Nick Cannon has defended Hart by calling out a number of Hollywood figures on their own homophobic posts on social media.

To begin, Cannon found a tweet from Chelsea Handler which was originally sent in 2010, it read: “This is what a f*g bird [lools] like when he flexes.”

Comedian Sarah Silverman was the next subject, while commenting on an episode of the Bachelorette in 2000, she wrote: “I don’t mean this in a hateful way but the new bachelorette’s a f*ggot.”

Finally, Cannon unearthed a tweet from Hollywood’s Amy Schumer who, when discussing James Bond film Skyfall, wrote: “Enjoy Skyfall f*gs. I’m bout [sic] to get knee deep in Helen Hunt #thesessions.”
