25 years on from the first instalment of Scream comes the latest addition to the franchise, and it borrows the same name as the first.
The film centres on a woman returning to her hometown to try to find out who has been committing a series of vicious crimes. No doubt that certain someone happens to be wearing a Ghostface mask.
Less than a month after the film was confirmed the directorial duo of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett behind the project confirmed that all the footage was in the can a final edit had been complete.
The project will see franchise favourites like Neve Campbell, Courtney Cox and David Arquette return, while up-and-coming stars like Jenna Ortega, Jasmin Savoy and Jack Quaid join the horror fun.
With the film only very recently completed, there is no trailer as of yet and the only release date is 2022 with unconfirmed reports suggesting January 14. That being said, with the project confidently in the vault, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer for further details and confirmation.
The directorial duo at the helm are known for their previous action-horror crossovers such as Devils Due and Ready or Not which you can watch a trailer for below.
