New ‘Predator’ movie ‘Killer of Killers’ announced

20th Century Studios has revealed that the secret second Predator movie of 2025 is Killer of Killers, an animated anthology film directed by Prey’s Dan Trachtenberg.

It was already known that November would see the release of Predator: Badlands, a live-action sequel to Trachtenberg’s 2022 franchise-reviver. However, in late 2024, 20th Century head Steve Asbell teased that the studio had another project in the works, but details were being kept under lock and key.

With the debut of its first trailer on April 8th, though, Predator: Killer of Killers was unleashed upon an unsuspecting world.

The animated feature will be released on June 6th on Hulu and Disney+, and it will follow “three of the fiercest warriors in human history: a Viking raider guiding her young son on a bloody quest for revenge; a ninja in feudal Japan who turns against his Samurai brother in a brutal battle for succession; and a WWII pilot who takes to the sky to investigate an otherworldly threat to the Allied cause.”

“But while all these warriors are killers in their own right,” the synopsis continues, “they are merely prey for their new opponent — the ultimate killer of killers.”

Trachtenberg has emerged in the last three years as the driving creative force behind the Predator franchise, having hit paydirt with Prey, which starred Amber Midthunder as a Comanche woman battling the fearsome extraterrestrial hunters in the Northern Great Plains of 1719. With Killer of Killers, he is continuing to set Predator stories at fascinating points in human history all over the world.

Badlands, which stars Elle Fanning, had its own first look unveiled at CinemaCon last week, with Fanning spilling the beans on its unique setup. “Something unprecedented happens in this movie, and my character is not the one being chased,” Fanning revealed. “My character actually teams up with the Predator, and you get to see him in a whole new light.”
