Music festival drops BØRNS amid sexual misconduct allegations
All Things Go Fall Classic Music Festival has taken the decision to drop BØRNS amid multiple sexual misconduct allegations.
The event, a two-day festival taking place in October, explained: “BØRNS will no longer be performing at the 2018 All Things Go Fall Classic.
“We hope, in all years and especially this one, that the Fall Classic continues to be part of making the music world a better, more equal place. Please stay tuned for scheduling updates and more announcements.”
The news comes after multiple women accused BØRNS – real name Garrett Borns – of misconduct: “I was expecting a bar but ended up at his place,” one woman wrote on Twitter. “Once everything happened I went to the bathroom and started bleeding. I was completely shocked from the blood and started to get it together and realized what just happened. I blamed myself for that night because I didn’t say no even though I was intoxicated.”
Borns has since denied all the allegations, he said: “I am both hurt and angered over the disturbing and false allegations that have been spread over the past few days on social media,” Borns wrote in a statement.
“All of the relationships I had were legal and consensual. They ended abruptly and that obviously caused hurt feelings, but for anyone to suggest anything beyond that is irresponsible,” he continued.
