Michael Rault has just blown through our ever-lasting colds and spread the mucus and gunk across the office like a childish Tarantino film. ‘Suckcess’ is his latest release and it’s thumping, pumping and the only option for today’s Track of the Day.
A new(ish) recruit to Burger Records he has punished us for fearing the cold and made good on the opening gambit of guitar which resonates throughout the song. It strikes fear like an early Black Keys track, full of snarling blues riffs and heavy distortion it toys with modern nuances and deliberately disorientates with the splicing of retro harmonies and brand new apathy.
Taken from his forthcoming album Living Daylight the song is a hint to the Canadian’s potential. His back catalogue suggest that he may have been around for a while but with this kind of beat and dancing rhythm this has to be the moment.
Based purely upon ‘Suckcess’ and not the assurance Burger Records is giving of his impending domination we think he may regret singing this perfectly timed chorus.
