Metronomy have returned after three years of radio silence with their new song ‘Lately’.
The song is the first new material the electronic band has released since their fifth studio album, Summer 08, which came out on 1 July 2016.
While the band have been quiet in the past three years, the members of Metronomy have been busy working on side projects. Lead singer Joseph Mount, for example, has been writing material for pop stars Robyn and Jessie Ware.
The band’s new song has allowed Mount to direct the accompany video, taking it upon himself to shrink the members down into miniature versions of themselves in tribute to ’80s film Honey I Shrunk the Kids.
