‘Melania’ director Brett Ratner pictured in Epstein files

Brett Ratner, the director of the Melania Trump documentary, Melania, has been pictured embracing a young woman in the Epstein files.

The US Department of Justice released more documentation from the files relating to Jeffrey Epstein, the late sex offender who died in custody in 2019 while awaiting trial.

Ratner is included in several of the new images; he can be seen in a series of thumbnails sitting on a sofa beside Epstein. They are both cuddling two young women, whose identities have been obscured.

The files were released on the same day that Melania: 20 Days to History was released. The documentary unveils the behind-the-scenes reality of the first lady’s life in the days leading up to Trump’s January 2025 inauguration.

The documentary, which has been slammed by critics, is the most expensive documentary ever made, with costs for Amazon MGM studios reaching a total of $75 million, including its $35m marketing budget.

The project was Ratner’s first project since he was accused of sexual misconduct during the #MeToo movement in 2017, allegations he quickly denied.

At that time, Melanie Kohler, a former employee of Endeavour Talent Agency, alleged that the director raped her at famed producer Robert Evans’ home.

Ratner has also directed action films, such as the Rush Hour films and X-Men: The Last Stand. It has been reported that Rush Hour 4 has been greenlit by Warner Bros. New Line, a banner of Warner Bros, after Trump’s personal intervention into the matter.

In other Ratner news, Melania will no longer be shown in cinemas in South Africa. Thobashan Govindarajulu, the head of sales and marketing for the regional distributor, Filmfinity, confirmed, “Based on recent developments, we’ve taken the decision to not go ahead with a theatrical release in territory.”

The latest documentation release also included mention of Jay-Z, rapper Pusha T, and convicted sex offender Harvey Weinstein.
