When we first saw Max Pope as a ragamuffin support for the sharp-suited Nick Waterhouse we remarked at his incredible potential and undaunted confidence. Well, Pope has now released his first new music for two years, it seems he has done a lot of work in that time.
‘All That I Need’ is a polished piece of shiny promenade railings reflecting the sunshine with a touch of the tropical you won’t find in his native Brighton. Taken from the his upcoming debut EP Less Than Nothing Pope has spent the last 18 months plying his trade and honesty to his knack for a great blues guitar line.
Top this off with a soulful vocal and the smooth rhythm and you have a hit for the Indian summer we have been promised. While the weathermen will likely fail to deliver, Pope’s promise of blue sky potential looks clear to brighten our day.
