Marvel shares ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ teaser featuring Wakandans and The Fantastic Four
Marvel has shared a further teaser for Avengers: Doomsday, this time featuring the Wakandans and The Fantastic Four.
It comes as the latest in a line of teasers that the studio has shared in the run-up to the epic blockbuster, which is set to combine the storylines of all the characters in its cinematic universe and will be released at the end of 2026.
This latest teaser shows the characters of Wakanda, from the Black Panther franchise, preparing for their next battle as Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, also gears up for her own personal challenges.
The tribe are then seen being introduced to Ben Grimm, otherwise known as The Thing, from The Fantastic Four movies, bringing together two superhero extremes from across the expanse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The inclusion of Wright’s character is notable as it comes amid rumours that Damson Idris could be taking over the Black Panther mantle when the franchise receives its next individual instalment.
Those rumours have emerged despite Marvel previously stating that it would not recast the role following the tragic death of Chadwick Boseman in 2020, and the character of Shuri taking over the Black Panther mantle in the follow-up film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Avengers: Doomsday is being chalked up as the most exciting reboot of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a number of years, after its most recent run of films have received more lukewarm reviews and often squandered their potential at the box office.
One of the biggest draws will be the return of Robert Downey Jr to the blockbuster screen, after he has been recast from his original role of Iron Man to now be playing the coveted role of villain Dr Victor von Doom.
Very little else is known about the plot for Avengers: Doomsday at this point as it is being kept strictly under wraps, but it will see the return of classic characters and actors, such as Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler, as well as performances from the likes of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.
Avengers: Doomsday is set to be released in cinemas worldwide on December 18th, 2026.
