Karl Logan, the guitarist for power metal band Manowar, has been arrested on child pornography charges.
The 53-year-old musician, who was arrested back in August with details now surfacing, was taken to Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office in Charlotte, North Carolina and faces six felony counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
“A person commits the offence of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor if, knowing the character or content of the material, he possesses material that contains a visual representation of a minor engaging in sexual activity,” states N.C. general law.
Logan’s bail was set for $35,000 which was posted instantly and he now awaits trial.
The guitarist joined the band in 1994, replacing guitarist David Shankle and has played on six albums. On top of that, Manowar recently announced a ‘farewell tour’ to kick off in February. However, following Logan’s arrest, the band’s management issued a statement through social media, it reads: “With regard to Karl Logan’s arrest and the charges against him: Due to the fact that Karl and his attorneys are dealing with these issues, he will not perform with MANOWAR. The new album and upcoming tour will not be affected. – Magic Circle Entertainment Management”
