Madonna reveals her “soul’s purpose” in new interview

Madonna has shared what she believes is her “soul’s purpose” in a new interview that focuses largely on her spiritual life.

As reported by People, Madonna will make her first-ever podcast appearance on a new episode of On Purpose with Jay Shetty. They discuss, among other things, her decades-long spiritual journey.

“You need to be spiritual to be successful. Success is having a spiritual life, period. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t have one,” Madonna revealed on the show. She first turned to spirituality after the birth of her first child, Lourdes Leon.

“What have I done for others? That’s really the only way you can be successful in life,” she also told Shetty. “It’s like the greatest amount of light is where there’s darkness and you can reveal the most amount of light. When you’re in a dark room, you turn on the light. When you’re in a room that’s already light, what do you, there’s no, um, effort made. So should we look for darkness?”

Madonna then turned her questioning eye inward and shared a piece of knowledge that took her many years to uncover. “My soul’s purpose is to reveal light in the world through whatever I do,” she continued. However, she added importantly, “I want it all, but I want it for the sake of sharing, not to keep it for myself.”

Hoping to share her learnings from her journey, she also added, “Spiritual wisdom is not helpful when everything’s going your way. It’s helpful when you’re challenged and when you’re happy.”

Madonna and her Kabbalah teacher Eitan Yardeni, who also appears on the podcast, are launching a new course titled ‘The Mystical Studies of the Zohar’ on September 29th.

The iconic singer often uses her voice to speak out on global political issues. Recently, the pop star, who was raised a Roman Catholic, urged Pope Leo to visit Gaza “before it’s too late”. She added in her public request, “We need the humanitarian gates to be fully opened to save these innocent children. There is no more time. Please say you will go. Love, Madonna.”

The new podcast episode will be available from September 29th.
