Madonna and Grindr team up for exclusive ‘Confessions II’ vinyl
Madonna will be celebrating the community that arguably loves her most with an exclusive vinyl release of her forthcoming album, Confessions II, in partnership with queer dating platform Grindr.
The highly anticipated sequel to her 2005 masterpiece, Confessions on a Dance Floor, will be released on July 3rd after the Queen of Pop teased the project as far back as early 2025.
Her first single, ‘I Feel So Free’, is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms after being debuted on LGBTQ+ radio station, Pride Radio.
Now, the icon is going a step further, and is “taking over” the app to bring “community into her world — just in time for Pride season.”
For users of the app, an entire profile grid will be devoted to Madonna, and will contain a pop-up of the recognisable star.
When the icon is activated through a simple click, the ‘Vogue’ singer addresses the app user: “Hi Grindr. It’s Motha. I made an exclusive vinyl of my new album just for you. I could have dropped it anywhere but I wanted to go where the hottest action was, so I got on the grid. Are you ready for Confessions II?”
The in-app experience also features limited-edition products, such as an exclusive picture disc of Confessions II handpicked by the star herself and only available for Grindr users.
Grindr has teased that it is “just getting started” with the collaboration that adds to years of continued support for the LGBTQIA+ community from Madonna.
Elsewhere in the run-up to the album, Madonna returned to Coachella 20 years after he debut in the desert for the debut of a surprise duet during Sabrina Carpenter’s headline set. Together, the performers nailed a rendition of a new song, ‘Bring Your Love’.
During her cameo, Madonna shared a message of hope and unity for all those watching: “The great thing about music is that it brings people together. Am I right? It’s the one place that people have to put their differences aside. Put their shit down and everyone just has a good time together, right?”
