Luke Royalty is here to get you in the mood for summer with his blissful new single, ‘Stay Gold’.
Royalty only released his debut single, ‘I Could Get Used To This’, last October, which he followed up earlier this year with the breezy, ‘I Do’. Hailing from Darlington, Royalty only ended up dabbling in music for the first time when he entered his late teens. Since then, he’s not looked back, with ‘Stay Gold’ showing that he’s an artist that you can’t sleep on for any longer.
Royalty is proud of his accent, and it’s refreshing to hear different regional voices in music rather than the pool of homogenous tones that we’ve become accustomed to hearing. The North East native flickers between sprechgesang on the verses before delivering a euphoric chorus that rips the roof of ‘Stay Gold’.
“It’s a summer song about making the most of the good times while they last,” Luke said of the track. ‘Stay Gold’ is full of warm, sunny vibes, which signify the good times are returning, and the track should be a mainstay of everyone’s playlists for the summer months ahead.
The track is like if Tom Misch had a child with Easy Life and came out of the womb with a Darlington accent. The future is shining bright for Royalty. So far, he’s struck gold with three out of three and here’s hoping that a debut EP isn’t too far down the pipeline.
