Loyle Carner – Tierney Terrace

Track of the Day is the latest upcoming release to be unveiled by one of the most exciting new voices in hip-hop, Loyle Carner.

Far Out first latched onto the Londoner last year when his song ‘Pieces’ and EP A Little Late led us to feature him on our list of Unsigned Picks For 2014.

The release was a combination of thought provoking and personal lyrics, coupled with some catchy sampling.

Since then it has been one triumph after another, including a collaboration with Mercury nominee Kate Tempest for Dan Carey’s Speedy Wunderground label.

But this time around we focus on ‘Tierney Terrace’, which will be released by paradYse Records July 24th.

The song is a fine example of Carner laying his heart and soul bare, reminiscing about how he turned to his grandparents for life lessons growing up in the absence of his biological father.

But beyond the encapsulating narrative there is a groove-ready guitar lick and a chorus of “All I wanted was a fucking man” that makes this track an anthem in waiting.

Get the single via paradYse on July 24th and keep your eyes carefully peeled for news on the debut LP.
