There have been a lot of books written about Lou Reed, the enigmatic leader of The Velvet Underground, but no book will reach as deep in to the life of Lou throughout his interviews after the band.
The new book will collect over 30 interviews with Lou Reed from across his post-Velvet Underground solo career. My Week Beats Your Year: Encounters With Lou Reed is out in August via Hat & Beard Press. The book was edited by Pat Thomas and compiled by Michael Heath.
We can expect to feel some prickly heat from the book. Lou was infamously known for his unwillingness to be exposed in interviews, he often found himself in the hot seat while completing them.
